Use the developer's loader for Ancient Rust.
Preparation
Enable Steam Overlay under Steam Settings → In Game. See the illustrated example.
The source specifies hardware virtualization and Hyper-V enabled, with Secure Boot and TPM disabled. Confirm the current product requirements before changing firmware settings and retain your recovery key if disk encryption is enabled.
Launch
- Open the loader and sign in.
- Select Ancient Rust and launch it. Initial setup may restart the PC.
- After restarting, reopen the loader and repeat the product selection.
- Start Rust only after the loader closes.
Repeated restarts
For several consecutive reboots, the source recommends checking hypervisor startup with bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto from an administrator command prompt, then restarting. Contact OwnHacks with the exact error if it continues.
The source's F1 note applies to EFT CHAMS, not Rust.
